A long time ago white cats lived in a temple of Birma and enjoyed special protection. One day the temple was attacked and many of the worshippers were killed.

One of the priests was by the statue of the blue-eyed goddess Tsun-Kyan-Kse at the moment when he was struck down.

While he breathed his last, a white cat jumped on to his body and looked at the image of the goddess. Its eyes became blue, and its ears, muzzle, legs and tail took on a dark shade. Only its paws stayed white. All the cats in the temple underwent the same transformation at that moment.

Is this true? Who knows?
