I live in a small town on a busy intersection. It was a cold wintery day, and out on the deck I saw cat tracks. Well through out the week I kept watching for any cat to show up. Finally I got a glimpse of the cat. It was a grey cat and very hungry looking (thin).
So I put some food out on the deck for the poor thing. Little by little, it started coming and not being so scared of me. By late March I could even pet this cat. I noticed it was really gaining weight I thought to myself, wow, I must be feeding it to much. Oh no that was not the case.
She was pregnant. We really developed a bond with each other. She would come up and rub around my ankles and I could still pet her. Well I figured I must give her a name so I ended up calling her GiGi.
By the later part of April, she had her “kitten”. I only found one and it was under the deck. I kept trying to pet the kitten because I didn’t want her as wild as her mom. When I did finally get close to the kitten I found out it was also a female with six toes on each foot. Just a beautiful kitten.
So I named her ZaZa. Throughout this time my cat and kitten were going up. But one day GiGi was killed out on the road. What a hurtful time because I had become very attached. ZaZa really missed her mother also. Poor ZaZA had such a hard time when she was younger. I had to take her to the vet all the time. She Had some kinda of bacteria in her system she was just a mess. But in time she got healthier.
To this day she is my only cat but she is my princess.
